Austria and the Republic of Moldova intensify their cooperation in the field of regional development

  Liviu Oboroc, Vice Minister of Regional Development and Construction and Gerhard Schaumberger, Chief of The Austrian Bureau for the Coordination for Technical Cooperation established today, the prospects of bilateral cooperation in regional development. The talks were held in an official meeting at the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction.

 According to the agenda, the officials discussed the priorities for implementing projects and analyzed the possibilities for financing joint projects in order to boost the development of the regions of the North, Centre and South of Moldova.

 Svetlana Rogov, Department Chief of the International Relations and attracting investments participated in the meeting by nominating sectors requiring assistance in regional development and construction, and mentioned the possibility of cooperation at this stage.

Another topic of discussion was the need to harmonize regulations in the Republic of Moldova with the European system of regulations and standards, and the need to develop national annexes. The parties discussed the issues of the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), where both the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Austria are the participating countries.

 At the end of the meeting the officials exchanged contact information and agreed to provide the information necessary to boost bilateral cooperation. They also expressed willingness for efficient collaboration in the development regions our country.
