Press Club on the topic of regional development unfolded in Cimișlia

Press Club journalist institutions in attendance were local media, regional districts of the South Region, managers of regional development projects, South RDA Director, Mary Culeșov and head of Project Management Department in South RDA, Eugen Lupașcu.

 As the moderator, CEO of API, Petru Macovei, said that "this activity is meant to help the Regional Development Agencies and the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction in communicating with the media, in particular, he insisted on a interaction between the media and the RDAs for feed-back even though it is not always the one that we want."

 Project managers present were:

 • Ion Veste- Project Manager, "The construction of the access road to the house - museum Alexei Mateevici" from Zaim, District of Căușeni

 • Vera Ciuchitu - Project Manager, "Sports tourism for promoting the image of region - the construction of sports complex from Căușeni,"

  • Vasile Tocaru - Project Manager  "Construction of access road Codreni - Sagaidacul Nou"

Discussion focused on successes and obstacles encountered in the implementation of regional development projects, completed projects impact on the community, and if investments met expectations.  Mr.  Ion Veste, said there is a considerable increase in the number of tourists visiting the museum "Alexei Mateevici." Also the Căușeni sports complex "has achieved its purpose as a regional sports center," said Mrs. Vera Ciuchitu.

 Finally, South RDA Director, Mrs. Maria Culeșov suggested to journalists "to monitor situations during and after project completion, what is the attitude of the beneficiaries and the situation forwarded goods to the beneficiaries. Such monitoring would also ensure sustainability; it makes people more aware and responsible in some cases ".

 Mr.  Ilie Gluh, Radio Moldova reporter pointed out that the media should not only inform, but also shape the attitudes and behavior of citizens through the information provided.

"Press Club" allowed participants to identify goals and priorities, which, once achieved, would benefit the entire community. 

The event took place with the support of the project "Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova", the funds are provided by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Project is implemented by the German Agency for International Development (GIZ) in partnership with Ministry of Regional Development and Construction.
