The campaign Quality Water in Your Town starts in the schools

The session met in working groups that will organize thematic classes in pre-university educational institutions of Cahul. In the campaign the classes will be 70 hours in 47 institutions with a target-group of classes VII-VIII. The Working Group is composed of 11 persons, representatives from the Public Health Center of Cahul, the Environmental Agency, Education Directorate in Cahul, water utilities as well as teachers and professionals in the field of biology and geography from different towns and clusters in the District Cahul. During the meeting the sides discussed key aspects of the environmental lesson that aims to transmit to children the need for potable water consumption and the benefits of modern water supply systems. They put into question the design of instructional activities and began drafting a joint educational project form for lessons with children in all localities. Topics to be addressed in the context of ecological lessons are:

• The role of drinking water in human life
• Water sources and their characteristics
• What is an effective drinking water supply system
• Water way source- consumer water source
• sources of water pollution
• Fundamental human rights, the right to health and the role of drinking water consumption in this regard;
• Protection of the environment, the need for a caring attitude towards our natural resources
• How to take care of springs and wells that provide consumable water

These are the main building blocks of the ecological lessons. All working group members were in for a few days to collect information on the topics covered, bring materials to interactive activities, quizzes, videos, proposals for experiments and other methods which will integrate this didactic project. The next meeting will discuss the organization chart of the lessons, approved by DÎ Cahul, so towards the end of March the campaign themed lessons in public schools district can start.
