Public consultations in the South Region: Regional Sectorial Program for water supply and Sewer System

The South Regional Development Agency initiated in early 2013, with the support of the German Agency for International Development (GIZ), the participatory process for the elaboration of the Regional Sectorial Program on Water Supply and Sewer System for the south region.

Regional sectorial working group, composed of representatives from LPA II from the 8 districts of the region, Directors of Municipal Enterprises (Î.M.) that provide services for water and sewer and RDA professionals, participated in the elaboration of Regional Sectorial Program on Water Supply and Sewer System

Thus, today launched public consultations on this program with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction (MRDC), State Chancellery, experts from the German Agency for International Development (GIZ), the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the Swiss Project of Water and Sanitation in Moldova (ApaSan), the Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development, experts from the South Regional Development Agency ( South RDA) and members of the Regional Working Group.

In opening the event, Ina Gortolomei, Representative of the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction, said "that by developing this program, account has been taken of documents and national documents will be tracked in a logical order. The entire program made it through the development process and was a joint effort of MRDC, South RDA, LPA, as well as experts and consultants of the GIZ. By continuing the cooperation on the basis of this program the elaboration and implementation of high quality projects can be conceived. "

"We're seeing the result of over half a year of work. The program is a living document, consistent, and by involving representatives of LPAs in the region, the development is credible. In 2015 we will have a new Call for projects, through which we resolve issues listed in this document. To fill it with proposals and suggestions, like the June 19 meeting of the CRD South to endorse a quality document, "said Eugen Lupașcu, Chief of management of projects with the South RDA.

During the meeting was presented the WSS Regional Sectorial Program for the South Region and the provisions of this Program.

The participants in the public hearings made several proposals and to improve the quality of the document. Its compromise was more active involvement of mayors, adding more specific data for the South Region, were some of the suggestions received from the participants presence.

All recommendations will be collected and attached to The Regional Sectorial Program on Water Supply and Sewer System for the South Region.

Remember, public consultations are a standard procedure in drafting planning documents, and Regional Sectorial Programs of water supply and sewerage systems. It will be approved at the meeting of the South Regional Council for Development on 19 June 2014.
