LPAs from the South Development Region are preparing for the Third Call for Project Proposals

Cimișlia, February 10, 2015 / Two days of trainings on Developing concept notes, the second module of the project "Capacity building of the LPAs from the Republic of Moldova, the South Region".

South Regional Development Agency (South RDA) jointly with the Czech Development Agency, implements a software project "Capacity building of the LPAs from the Republic of Moldova, the South Region", in which the Local Public Authorities (LPAs) in South Development Region will strengthen capacities in developing regional projects in order to support private sector development. This is the second training module, which aims to train LPAs in developing concept notes and prepare for writing effective and sustainable projects for the next Call for Project Proposals.

South RDA Specialists from the department of project management, which also act as expert s, did a recap of the first module and the participants in their turn, were able to share the expectations they have from these trainings.

The seminar was attended by representatives of LPA of the Ist and IInd level and entrepreneurs from Cimișlia, Basarabeasca and Leova. The seminar centered upon the specific of Call for Project Proposals with funding from the National Fund for Regional Development (NFRD), objectives, priorities, steps and rules of conduct, has been reviewed the relevance of project ideas proposed in accordance with the priorities and measures of South Regional Development Strategy, district, local strategies and other relevant policy documents. And thence, was presented general information about the structure of the project concept notes and first 3 sections feature - purpose and objectives, regional impact and identifying beneficiaries.

                         

Participants were trained in practical exercises after which they formulated objectives on the selected project ideas then argued the relevance of the project and the regional impact. The relevance the project has to the strategic documents and relevance to the needs of citizens. The participants were very interested in the topics and interfered with concrete questions that concern them directly, and the South RDA specialists have tried to give answers as expected.

In the second day of training, continued presenting detailed information on the project concept note sections: implementation methodology, budget, products and results, multiple effects of the project. Also, they discussed issues related to inter-community partnership and cooperation in regional projects. It should be mentioned that each subject was presented theoretical accompanied by practical work on the idea of the project identified by the participants. It follows that the participants will work on project ideas identified by them, processed and the layout of the concept notes developed during these two days, submit them for Local Authorities in the districts they represent in order to develop it up to the stage to submit them to Call for Project Proposals III.

We recall that the cycle of seminars within the project “Capacity building of the LPAs from the Republic of Moldova, the South Region” will continue in the upcoming days in Căușeni from February 12 to 13, on 16-17 February in Cahul, and from 18 to 19 February is expected in Taraclia for Russian speakers.

We reiterate that in the frame of this project, LPAs will receive training, individual consultations on project ideas identified by the beneficiaries in order to fully develop project ideas and the general goal of the project is to prepare LPAs from the South Development Region in writing effective projects for the next Call for Project Proposals (the third in number).
