In Cahul was created the Local Steering Committee in the Water Supply and Sanitation Sector

February 12, 2015 / Cahul / Today in Cahul was held the founding meeting of the Local Steering Committee (LSC)in the Modernization of Local Public Services Project (MLPS) in the Water Supply and Sanitation Sector  (WSS) in Cahul.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the General Direction for Regional Development of the Ministry of Construction and Regional Development, Mr. Valerian Bînzaru, South RDA director, Mrs. Maria Culeșov, representatives of the LPA of I and II level, representatives of environmental agencies, the Centre for Public Health, the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and NGOs in Cahul.

During the meeting was presented the draft of the MLPS in WSS Cahul and according to the Memorandum of Understanding approved on 16 December 2014 by the parties, was discussed the text of the Regulation of the Local Steering Committee, which is the Annex to the Memorandum.

Consequently, under the Regulation of LSC, the President of the LSC was elected - Mayor of Cahul, Mr. Peter Burlacu, LSC's vice president was appointed the Roșu village mayor - Mr. Furtună Grigore and the secretary of the LCS was appointed Natalia Culev, specialist in Cahul TownHall.

It was also discussed on the appointment to identify a local manager and on the opportunity of the stakeholders to finance him.

In the first half of March, it is planned a meeting to present the report on the MLPS activity on WSS Cahul for the fourth quarter of 2014.
