This week proved to be a very active one for the South Regional Development Agency. This is because the projects that started in 2016 are going to be continued in 2017 as well. Thus, on Thursday, January 5, a meeting to coordinate activities in the process of drafting the Regional Sector Program (RSP) in the field of business support infrastructure development was organized in the agency.

The meeting was attended by the experts Dumitru Alaiba and Stela Corobceanu, hired to develop the strategic document within a project financed by The UK Government's Good Governance Fund (GGF).

All those present at the meeting, particularly the Strategic Planning Specialists agreed with each issues and activities that will have been implemented by the end of the project. In this context, Mrs. Stela Corobceanu had a comprehensive detailed presentation about the process of RSP in economics development.

According to Mrs. Corobceanu, the development of this important document will take into account the imminent challenges faced by exponents of the business environment in Southern Region and the region's economy as a whole together with the expectations of the business  sector and LPA representatives .

At the same time, all existing national policies and international practices in this regard will be placed in the foreground and thoroughly analysed.

The RSP drafting will be a participatory one involving representatives from local government, academia and donors so that the new policy document will allow higher LPA participation in terms of  investments attraction to increase economic sector competitiveness  in the region.

The Regional Sector Program (RSP) in the field of business support infrastructure development will serve as a benchmark methodology and a subsequent filter in identification of project concepts in economic development of the region.
