The RDA South Specialists Monitor the Works Carried Out Within the "Development of The Business Infrastructure by Connecting Localities and Local Roads on the Corridor 20 - DR South, R34-Sîrma-Tomai-Sărăteni-Hîrtop - to the National Road Network" Project

On October 11, 2018, Mrs Maria Culesov, the director of the RDA South, and the specialists from the Project Management Department had a monitoring visit to Hirtop village, Cimislia district. They checked the works executing within the "Development of the business infrastructure by connecting localities and local roads on the Corridor 20 - DR South, R34-Sîrma-Tomai-Sărăteni-Hîrtop - to the national road network" investment project, implemented by the Regional Development Agency South from the National Fund for Regional Development sources.

The RDA South specialists documented on the current situation regarding the implementation of the project and the progress of the works. They took note of a number of issues that decision-makers have to take into account for proper implementation of the project.

At this moment, the contractor is performing construction works of sidewalks and access road to the households, including the installation of the underpasses at intersections with secondary roads. The work on executing the foundation layers on the road portion that connects Hirtop and Mereni villages is to be continued.

The works on this project started on August 9, 2017. Till this moment, up to 2.35 km of road is covered with asphalt (first layer). 

It worth mentioning, that by Government Decision No. 203 of March 29, 2017, the project "Development of the business infrastructure by connecting localities and local roads on the Corridor 20 - DR South, R34-Sîrma-Tomai-Sărăteni-Hîrtop - to the national road network" was included in the SPD for 2017-2020 years for financing from NFRD. 

The project expected outputs are 3,0255 km of newly built road Hirtop-Mereni; 2.5 km of rehabilitated road from the center of Hirtop - to the national road R3 

(covered with asphalt, sidewalks and access to households built). 2500 citizens of Hirtop commune, 8 public institutions and 10 economic operators are direct project beneficiaries. 

The investment project "Development of the business infrastructure by connecting localities and local roads on the Corridor 20 - DR South, R34-Sîrma-Tomai-Sărăteni-Hîrtop - to the national road network" is implemented from National Fund for Regional Development and it is directly involved in ensuring a sustainable connectivity between the economically advanced localities of the South Development Region and contributing to the growth of the economic beneficiary localities.
