Members of the PEA "Water supply and sewage in Cahul rayon" approved the measures to support and strengthen the capacities and took note of the Communication and Visual Identity Manual provisions elaborated by RDA South

On Friday, November 15, 2019, at the Cahul City Hall, the regular meeting of the Project Executing Agency (PEA) "Water supply and sewage in Cahul rayon", financed by the Government of Germany through the German Development Bank KfW, was held. Within it, the training and support measures, envisaged by the company "Fichtner Water & Transportation" in order to increase the capacities of the members of the project implementation team, were presented, as well as the draft of the Communication and Visibility Manual of the project, elaborated by the Regional Development Agency South.

During the PEA meeting, attended by Cahul City Hall specialists and Regional Development Agency South employees, "Fichtner Water & Transportation" company consultants and "Apa Canal Cahul" enterprise employees, several important issues related to the design of support and capacity building measures, to be awarded within the project "Water supply and sewage in Cahul rayon" by "Fichtner Water & Transportation" experts, were discussed and analyzed.

In context, the consultants "Fichtner Water & Transportation" informed everyone present of the main objectives of the support measures regarding the training activities, and proposed, for approval, as a priority, the following areas of intervention: Working groups and coordination of stakeholders ; Project management and responsibilities of the parties; Improving expertise in technical management and the management of change. 

For her part, Viorica Cuțitaru, specialist in project management within the Regional Development Agency (RDA) South, presented the Communication and Visibility Manual, elaborated within the project "Water supply and sewage in Cahul rayon", document that regulates the main objectives and communication tools / channels to be used in order to promote the investment measures realized within the KfW-funded project, but also the mandatory visual identity elements, such as the logo, the key message and other inherent graphic elements that create and formulate an outstanding visual identity of the project and which need to be used in strict accordance with the norms and provisions of the framework document.

According to the person in charge, a Communication and Visibility Plan for the Cahul WSS project is also in the process of elaboration at RDA South. The document aims to inform the target public about the contribution of the Federal Government of Germany and, directly of the KfW Bank, in the development and modernization of the water supply and sewerage infrastructure of the localities in the south of the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, this plan defines the purpose, the specific objectives, the schedule of activities and other elements necessary for a good management and monitoring of the implementation of the advertising and communication activity for the project "Water supply and sewage in Cahul rayon".

The project is implemented by the municipality of Cahul, with the support of the Regional Development Agency (RDA) South. According to the Financing Agreement signed with the German Bank KfW, RDA South shall provide expertise in the field of procurement procedures, elaboration of expenditure estimates and to ensure the promotion and visibility of the project "Water supply and sewage in Cahul rayon".

The project is funded by the German Development Bank KfW and aims to restore the basic infrastructure of water supply and sewerage from the Prut River to the largest city in the south of Moldova and to the nearby villages.
