Members of the Working Group on public procurement within the projects funded by the European Union in the Southern Development Region have increased their capacities

On Tuesday, February 25, in Cimișlia, a training session for the members of the Working Group on public procurement, to be carried out within the projects financed from the sources of the European Union in the Southern Development Region, in the Energy Efficiency (EE) of public buildings and Water Supply and / or Sewerage (WSS) sectors, was held.

The training session was organized by RDA South in partnership with the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ).

The participants in the event were trained on the particularities of European funded projects, the stages of their implementation, the role of GIZ as a financier, as well as the role and attributions of RDA South as a contracting authority. At the same time, the representatives of the local public authorities have found out what their role and attributions, as beneficiaries in the projects financed by the EU, are.

Recently, The National Coordination Council for Regional Development (NCCRD) confirmed the projects that will be implemented from EU sources in the Southern Development Region. These are 2 projects in the field of EE and 2 in the field of WSS.

Energy efficiency

  • Increasing energy efficiency of "Matei Basarab" Theoretical Lyceum in Basarabeasca town;
  • Increasing energy efficiency of "Constantin Spătaru" Theoretical Lyceum in Leova town;

Water Supply and Sewerage

  • Improvement of water supply services in Iargara, Filipeni, Romanovca and Cupcui villages from Leova rayon.
  • Extension of sewerage system in Leova town. Construction of wastewater pumping station in Leova town.

These 4 projects are funded by the European Union in cooperation with the project "Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova", which is implemented by the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment of the Republic of Moldova and with the financial support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ), the European Union, the Government of Romania, the Government of Sweden and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
