On January 29, 2019, in Cimislia, the second meeting of the regional working group, created for the elaboration of the Investment Profile of the Development Region South, was held. The agenda of the meeting included several topics, the most important being: presentation of the results obtained in the process of elaboration of the investment offers; presentation of a draft of the Investment Profile of the Leova district, which will serve as a model for the elaboration of District Profiles, as it was agreed by the members of the working group. The working group members made proposals for filling the content of the investment profiles. Eight investment profiles, one for each district from the Development Region South, as well as a regional investment catalogue, will be elaborated in the project. To the members of the regional working group also were presented the results of the analysis of the investment opportunities in DRS, as it is a report developed within the project. At the meeting, the database of 79 investment offers submitted by district councils from the region, elaborated within the project was presented. These offers are the basis of the Regional Investment Portal, which has to be developed and launched within the project by the end of May. The investment portal will serve as a regional map for potential investors, interested in launching or developing a business in the South Region of the country. The project's products, presented to the members of the working group within the workshop, are elaborated applying the participatory approach, by the involvement of representatives of the district councils from the region, as well as the German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation (GIZ), the "Sustainable Economic Development" Program, Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development (ODIMM), etc. The "South Gate of Moldova, Open for Business and Investment Promotion" project is funded by the European Union within the "Mayors for Economic Growth" initiative and implemented by the Cimislia District Council in partnership with the Organisation for Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development and the RDA South. The partners and beneficiaries of the project are Basarabeasca, Cahul, Cantemir, Causeni, Leova, Stefan Voda and Taraclia district councils.
